Not fashion related but I was pleasantly surprised to read about Naoko’s inspiration of the Moon Kingdom ruins taken from the city of Palmyra.

Being half-Syrian myself, this city was always one of my favorite places to visit when I was younger whenever my family went on vacation to Syria and I can vouch for how breathtaking it looks in person, despite how chaotic and sad it might appear.
I’m also currently writing a mini-thesis on a book about Queen Zenobia of Palmyra, who is also a bamf like the ladies of the Moon Kingdom. :)

Naoko’s drawing is from the BSSM Artbook Volume 2
